The yard
West Frankfort yards
Mid-century lots here are usually flat to gently sloped, with a front yard that gets looked at.
Mowing and trimming keep it from slipping.
A rental that sat a few weeks gets a full cut and a cleaned-up edge.
We also run a string trimmer along walks and fences, then blow the clippings off the concrete.
That last step is what makes it look finished from the street.
Fall is the right time to aerate and overseed in southern Illinois.
Compacted yards soak water poorly, and aeration helps with that.
Tall fescue handles the heat, and seed does well when it goes down in the fall.
Spring cleanups handle the leaves and sticks that winter leaves behind.
Snow removal is on our list too, so ask if you want a driveway cleared.
